S&B performed FEL and EPC for a second world-scale on-purpose 1-hexene plant at Chevron Phillips Chemical’s facility in Sweeny, Texas. This unit uses the client’s latest evolution of their proprietary, on-purpose 1-hexene technology to produce up to 266,000 metric tons per year of 1-hexene, a critical component in high-performance polyethylene. S&B was selected for this work in large part due to our excellent performance on multiple previous EPC and construction scopes of work for the client, including the previous 1-hexene plant at the Cedar Bayou Complex.
