Project Details
Bibb, an S&B subsidiary, performed detailed engineering and design for a 290-MW power station. This project included repowering a retired 160-MW steam turbine generator installed in 1962. Scope included demolition drawing detail design, procurement specs and installation drawings for construction.
Bibb engineered and designed equipment foundations and interconnections with existing piping and electrical systems. A modern central plant DCS was also designed and installed.
The project was unique because the owner was using the existing steam turbine generator, a new gas turbine generator and a new heat recovery boiler initially designed for a different facility.
