Project Details
TAI, an S&B subsidiary, performed EPC for three 62-69' vessels for conducting hydrographic surveys using sophisticated multibeam and single-beam sonars. The vessels are equipped with MAN propulsion diesels that turn two Hamilton waterjets. This allows for quick mobilization and response speeds over 38 knots and survey speeds up to 10 knots – speeds also made possible by hydrofoils installed between the hulls.
Survey capabilities include SONIC 2024 multibeam sonars and single-frequency sonars mounted inside a survey pod. The vessels have a galley, mess and sleeping accommodations. The project was delivered on budget and on schedule, and the first vessel was selected as one of the top 10 significant boats of the year by WorkBoat Magazine.
