Project Details
S&B performed EP services for a major NGL export terminal capable of receiving VLECs (Very Large Ethane Carriers). The project included facilities for receiving, storing and exporting ethane, propane and butane, in addition to a demethanizer column, refrigeration facilities, boil-off gas (BOG) facilities, as well as product transfer lines to the dock and associated utilities and offsites. Existing underground caverns were expanded and modified for NGL storage.
We were awarded this project during partial completion of the detailed design. Our role included identifying and correcting issues with the previous contractor's design.
This is one of only three major ethane export terminals in the US. S&B has played a leading role in all three terminals, including full EPC for two and EP for the third.
